The Point of Modest Swimsuits

Maybe it’s due to the fact that I’m a guy, but, well, I wonder if there’s really anything behind these modest swimsuits in anyway, in the West, anyway. Could the religious fundamentalists be right, after all, in claiming that women naturally wish to cover up their bodies? Just seems like such a ridiculous way to swim, putting on robes while swimming! On the other hand, there’s no reason for them to feel uncomfortable if indeed skimpy outfits cause unwelcome stares. It’s their body, after all; it’s their lives. Just so they don’t start dictating others’ fashion sense, live and let live should be the way things are!
