Ready to unlock your cell phones

Heard the good news that unlocked cell phones have received something of a big nod from the American judiciary lately, thanks to a ruling that permits the unlocking of one’s own phone totally legal. Cellular service providers typically lock the devices they provide their subscribers so that those phones will only work using the provider’s network. The result of it all is that cell phones are instantly made worthless whenever people switch carriers, and so a cottage industry has grown around those individuals who would like to take their mobile phones with them to a completely new carrier. And now the courts just awarded this practice its blessings, but with one fatal caveat – while unlocking telephones is allowed, the means needed to accomplish it is not!
